Patented Silver Ion Technology
BestLinen – Linen with an active antimicrobial finish for use in hospitals.
To help with the fight against bacteria in hospitals CWS-boco Ireland Ltd, in conjunction with their partners, has developed
a
patented antimicrobial efficient preparation based on silver for use on healthcare linen. During our wash process silver ions are impregnated into
our linen. The Silver Ions provide
active protection against bacteria in three ways: the structure of the cell membrane is destroyed, metabolism functions get mixed up due to enzyme blockings,
& the cell division is disturbed. Independent testing by the Hohenstein Institute in Germany has shown that silver is non
toxic to human cells while having strong antimicrobial effects on bacteria such as
Klebsiella Pneumonia and the antibiotic resistant strain of
Staphylococcus Aureus (MRSA). Our textiles finished with the Silver Ion process have been certified to the Oeko-Tex Standard 100, Product Class 1, which
verifies they are safe for use with infants.
